Term 2 · Paper set 2 · Paper I · A/L Chemistry

A Paadama term test for Grade 12, Term 2 (paper set 2), written in the format of the G.C.E. (A/L) Chemistry Paper I but shorter: 40 multiple-choice questions, one hour forty-five minutes, no calculators. About 70% of the marks come from this term's units (gaseous state, energetics, s-, p- and d-block chemistry and qualitative analysis) and about 30% from Term 1 (atomic structure, bonding, the mole and stoichiometry). Questions 1–24 have one correct answer. In questions 25–32 one or more of the responses (a), (b), (c) and (d) is correct: choose (1) if only (a) and (b) are correct, (2) if only (b) and (c), (3) if only (c) and (d), (4) if only (d) and (a), and (5) for any other number or combination of correct responses. Questions 33–40 give two statements; choose the response that best fits them. Universal gas constant R = 8.314 J K⁻¹ mol⁻¹, Avogadro constant = 6.022 × 10²³ mol⁻¹, Planck constant h = 6.626 × 10⁻³⁴ J s, speed of light c = 3 × 10⁸ m s⁻¹, Faraday constant F = 96 500 C mol⁻¹. Relative atomic masses are given in the questions where needed. Each question links to the lesson it tests.
