The 2024 G.C.E. (A/L) Biology Paper I set by the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka: 50 multiple-choice questions in two hours. In questions 1 to 40 pick the one correct or most appropriate response. In questions 41 to 50 one or more of the responses (A) to (E) may be correct: choose (1) if only (A), (B) and (D) are correct, (2) if only (A), (C) and (D), (3) if only (A) and (B), (4) if only (C) and (D), and (5) for any other response or combination. Answers are from the official marking scheme. For Q45 the scheme gives (5) for the Sinhala medium but (4) for the English and Tamil media; this paper uses (5), which is what the statements show (B, C and D are correct), and the explanation says so. The scheme gives (3) for Q46 in the Sinhala and English media. Each question links to the lesson it tests.
